INDIVIDUALS

•Contribution at the Provincial level

•Material, financial and/or personal support

•Participation for a minimum of ten years (with the exception of the past president

of the Nova Scotia 4-H Council who should receive the award)

•Outstanding support and/or co-operation

Selection to be made by the Nova Scotia 4-H Council Executive with the names of nominees being in prior to the March Executive Meeting.

We would RECOMMEND a maximum of THREE awards be presented each year.

We would also recommend that the council buy “nice” frames for the Friends of 4-H Awards.

We also feel that there is a need to recognize more effectively those who make substantial contributions/donations: pictures in local papers, cards, telephone calls as examples.

We can all be looking more closely for those who are already making contributions.

We recommend that the President of the Nova Scotia 4-H Council speak about the person or company receiving the Friends of 4-H Award, including why the individual or company is being given the award.

We would also recommend that the recipient be told why he or she is being invited to the 4-H Night in Nova Scotia program when necessary.
